The Truth

A few months ago I was walking out of the Best Buy in Mt. Laurel and I noticed the store “Leisure Fitness.” I thought, “Really!? A store filled with work-out equipment called „Leisure Fitness!.” What an oxymoron!

At first I couldn.t believe it….but then I realized that it makes total sense within the culture we live in. Companies use marketing strategies, cool names and catchy slogans to make their product more appealing than it really is. When it comes down to it, fitness equipment is fitness equipment. There is nothing leisurely about working out and getting healthy! This company in Mt. Laurel wants you and me to think that Leisure and Fitness go together. But I.m not buying it – and I.m sure you aren.t either.

Realize that the world around us often uses manipulation and half-truths to achieve their goal. People often lie or cut corners in order to get ahead. The truth is becoming harder to come by these days. As Christians, however, we are to rise up and live by a higher standard. We are to live by the truth and point others to the truth. And ultimately this means that we look to Jesus who says I am the way, the TRUTH and the life. (John 14:6a).

Continue seeking Jesus who is the embodiment of Truth. Seek the truth as you read the Bible. Be a person of integrity and honesty seeking to tell the truth instead of lies.

I am going to be a person that is the same wherever I go or whoever I am around. I am going to tell the truth and be true to who God wants me to be. How about you? What a good New Year.s Resolution for all of us!
