It is a joy to welcome your children to our VBS program!
As Moravian Christians, we uphold the belief that we are all created out of love by God, and we celebrate unity in all of our diversity. Our Moravian Covenant for Christian Living, which guides us in our faith, states: "Because we hold that all people are God’s creatures (Genesis 1:27) and that he has made of one blood all nations (Acts 17:26), we oppose any discrimination based on color, race, creed, or land of origin and declare that we should treat everyone with love and respect.”
Recently, many have reported that the Roar! VBS curriculum, created by Group Publishing, is racially insensitive. After receipt and review of the curriculum, we believe these to be valid concerns. Therefore, we have rewritten the curriculum, maintaining the central theme of God’s goodness, while ensuring that the lessons we share with your children affirm the goodness of ALL of God’s people.
